Becca Williams is a yoga therapist and educator who specializes in cannabis-assisted emotional & trauma recovery. Her practice integrates ancient healing modalities that utilize expressive movement and breathwork techniques with the judicious use of cannabis. Becca is a registered dietitian/nutritionist, a certified Emotional Liberation® facilitator and a long-time cannabis advocate and activist. She has been a group facilitator, speaker and mentor for personal and collective transformation for more than two decades.  

David Bearman, M.D.

Pain Management

One of the most clinically knowledgeable physicians in the U.S. in the field of medicinal marijuana.  He has spent 40 years working in substance and drug abuse treatment and prevention programs.  Dr. Bearman was a pioneer in the free and community clinic movement.  His career includes public health, administrative medicine, provision of primary care, pain management and cannabinology.His almost 40 year professional experience in the drug abuse treatment and prevention field includes being the Co-Director of the Haight-Ashbury Drug Treatment Program, being a member of Governor Reagan’s Inter Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse, a member of both the Santa Barbara and the San Diego County Drug Abuse Technical Advisor Committees.He has been recognized by the Santa Barbara Medical Society with the Humanitarian Recognition Award. Dr. Bearman is also the author of Drugs Are NOT the Devil’s Tools: How Discrimination and Greed Created a Dysfunctional Drug Policy and How It Can Be Fixed in 2 volumes.

Janice Vaughn-Knox, M.D., M.B.A.

Dr. Janice Vaughn-Knox is a board-certified anesthesiologist who believes in the power of self-healing. She is also the CEO of the American Cannabinoid Clinics, CEO of AC Group, Inc. and Co-Founder of ADVENT Academy.  Dr. Vaughn-Knox is a wife, mother, physician, best-selling author and cannabis expert. Dr. Janice grew up the fourth of 15 children in Richmond, CA. She did her undergraduate studies at the University of California Berkeley and medical school at the University of Washington Seattle.
Dr. Knox believes in an integrative approach to delivering medical cannabis care that is rooted in evidence-based Lifestyle and Functional Medicine.
Dr. Vaughn-Knox is one of the founding doctors of The CannaMDs, the American Cannabinoid Clinics and The American Cannabinoid Group

Teaera Roland, FNP-BC, MSN, RN CCM, brings to the team a diverse clinical and administrative background in healthcare. As a hospital administrator, Teaera has strived to integrate holistic care and population health as well as promote care coordination for the wellness of the community. Teaera has participated in both leadership and clinical roles for mental health hospitals as well as medical surgical hospitals. Her passion lies in treating the whole person. Teaera founded Lotus Health LLC due to the overwhelming need for patient centered and holistic treatment in the community. Teaera is certified in addiction as well as cannabinoid medicine.

Dr. June Chin

Integrative Cannabis Physician

For over a decade, Dr. June Chin lived and practiced medicine in California, a state with legalized medical cannabis since 1996. In California, their integrative osteopathic clinic focused on children with intractable epilepsy, cancer, and autism. She has seen firsthand just how much medical cannabis can benefit patients.  She is currently treating both children and adults in New York and Connecticut. Dr. Chin is a chronic pain survivor.  Doctors suggested opiate pain medications, steroids, epidurals, and ultimately surgery to fuse the spine.  As a result of her experience, Dr. Chin decided to dedicate her medical career in finding effective, integrative and holistic approaches to patient care. Dr. Chin is a frequent keynote speaker on the science and medicine of cannabis and has spoken at hospitals, conferences, and events all over the world.

Dr Jay Sethi has lived, trained, worked and educated, both Nationally and Internationally.  He has had the opportunity to learn from various experts in their respective fields and has developed a unique, multi-faceted approach to helping individuals address their mental health and sleep related concerns, in a wide range of settings.   He has curiosity within the area of cannabinoid medicine and the endocannabinoid system, and how these may assist with alleviating anxiety, stress, mood and sleep disturbances, commonly found in patients with psychiatric and sleep disorders.  He is passionate about providing whole person-centered care.  Dr. Sethi is a creative leader, compassionate clinician and innovative contributor, as he strives towards specialized clinical practice to assimilate these areas of significance.

Eric J Exelbert MD is a board-certified pediatric intensivist and board-certified pediatrician. He is also registered in the Medical Marijuana Use Registry, meaning he is permitted to authorize the use of medical cannabis for qualifying patients. Through his pediatric ICU experience, Dr. Exelbert has amassed significant understanding of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), a network of endogenous cannabinoid receptors that are located primarily throughout the mammalian immune and nervous systems.

Dr Paul Bregman MD is trained in diagnostic radiology/breast imaging. He has been practicing cannabinoid medicine since 2007 in Denver, CO,  performing state medical cannabis evaluations for qualifying patients. He became a Certified Cannabinoid Specialist with the AACM in 2012. His work includes testifying to the CO state legislature about medical cannabis policy and qualifying conditions for medical cannabis.In addition to being a nationally recognized speaker, he is the medical director at, a CBD company, He is the Founder and President of (2017), a medical cannabis/CBD information/human resource practice for patients seeking assistance in collaboration with physicians nationwide.

Dr. David Ostrow, PhD, MD

VP of Research and Outreach

Dr. Ostrow received his BS, PhD and MD from the University of Chicago, and has since been a leader in issues of gay men’s health. In 1974, Ostrow co-founded the Howard Brown Health Center, the first and one of the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) health centers. In 1984, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) started the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) – the longest-running HIV/AIDS natural history study – at Dr. Ostrow’s suggestion. His career focused on the behavioral, mental health and substance use aspects of HIV among gay/bisexual men, and has included more than 150 published scientific papers and 12 books. Dr. Ostrow retired from practicing addiction psychiatry in 2004 to focus on researching the links between drug use and HIV infection. He is also the founder of the Medical Marijuana Policy Advocacy Project (MMPAP), aimed at expanding medicinal cannabis research and educating healthcare providers about the protection of medicinal cannabis patients from federal prosecution.

Dr. Morgan is a Medical Marijuana Specialist and has been practicing Medical Marijuana Medicine for 6 years. She is licensed in Florida, Washington, and Pennsylvania. She is double board certified in Medical Marijuana Medicine by the Society of Cannabis Clinicians and the American Academy of Cannabis Medicine where she sits on the board of directors. On top of this she is also a Diplomate of the American, Academy of Family Physicians where she has been in practice for over 32 years. She served as Medical Director for United Health, Humana, and Metropolitan Health. Dr. Morgan has studied the ECS extensively, becoming a part of the International Cannabinoid Research Society and has appeared on multiple news stations, magazines, and conferences as an expert in the field of Medical Marijuana Medicine. She treats each patient individually, creating each treatment plan with her patients’ needs and goals in mind. With a vast knowledge of the different routes, dosages, frequencies, and types of Medical Marijuana, she is able to get her patients feeling better and back to what they enjoy.

Carolina Nocetti, MD

Carolina has always been interested in the therapeutic potential of natural compounds and has begun her activities in the Amazon forest developing products derived from extracts of fruits of the region. In the USA, she’s obtained ECFMG certification (Medical Boards for Foreign Medical Graduates) and extended her studies to the therapeutic use of Cannabis.

She is founder of the International Cannabis Academy (InterCan) a Brazilian education company and founder of InterDoc, a hub of professionals with experience in Integrative Patient Care, Cannabis Therapeutic Strategy and Management. She has worked in the main production centers in Colorado and California.

She has lived in the US for 10 years, has dedicated the last 7 years to the Cannabis ecosystem and has 5 years of experience in nutraceutical product R&D, participating in the development of therapeutic products derived from Cannabis and custom formulations in Los Angeles for 2.5 years, where she’s worked as Technical Consultant and Medical Director. Currently living in Brazil, Carolina’s clinical practice is exclusively dedicated to Medical Cannabis patients. She also works in corporate technical consultancy, education and public advocacy, participating in public hearings in the Brazilian Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly.

Stacy J. Shymansky is the Founder and CEO of Medicine Women Consulting, an Integrative Health Care
Company specializing in Cannabinoid Therapy for symptoms related to Cancer, Neurological Conditions
and Chronic Diseases.
Stacy is a Certified Medical Cannabis Expert (MCE) with Patients Out of Time, and is a Consultant and
Supporting Member of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine (AACM). She is also an Affiliate
Member of the International Cannabinoid Research Society (ICRS), and is the Community Liaison for
Americans for Safe Access (ASA) - a national organization for Medical Cannabis patients based in
Washington, DC.
Stacy has been educating the public and medical professionals on Cannabinoid Therapy for over two
decades, conducting innovative educational seminars that focus on latest developments in Cannabinoid
Medicine and its applications to Cancer, Neurological Diseases and Chronic Conditions as well as Mental
Health and Drug Rehabilitation.
She has worked with a number of renowned physicians from a variety of institutions including Harvard
Medical, UCLA Health, John Hopkins University and the Cleveland Clinic. She is currently involved in
several research projects regarding Cannabinoid Therapy.

Rachel Knox, M.D., M.B.A.

Dr. Rachel Knox is a certified Cannabinoid Medicine specialist who received her medical and business degrees from Tufts University after completing her undergraduate studies at Duke. She trained in Family and Integrative Medicine before pursuing additional study in the areas of Functional Medicine, Cannabinoid Medicine, and Endocannabinology - the study of the function, dysfunction and modulation of the most important physiologic system in the human body, the endocannabinoid system. Dr. Knox is a co-founder of the American Cannabinoid Clinics and ADVENT Academy, medical committee chairperson for the Minority Cannabis Business Association, member of the Cannabis Policy Oversight Team for Portland, Oregon, board member of NuLeaf Project in Portland, Oregon, spokesperson for Doctors for Cannabis Regulation, certified AACM Cannabinoid Medicine Specialist and Chair for the Oregon Cannabis Commission.

Angela Bacca

Cannabis Journalist & Editor

Angela Bacca is a Lompoc-based freelance journalist, book editor and political strategist. She got her start in cannabis media as a student journalist at San Francisco State University in 2007 before becoming the editorial assistant to cultivation expert Ed Rosenthal in 2008. For just over 10 years she has been the editor of multiple magazines and online publications and has edited cultivation science, research, medical and cultural cannabis books, including for Santa Barbara-based Dr. David Bearman. She has provided media strategy on campaigns in multiple states and cities and provided her PR/media expertise towards patient advocacy cases nationally through her work at Green Aid: The Medical Marijuana Legal Defense and Education Fund. Bacca earned her MBA at Mills College in Oakland and specializes in economic and investigative reporting of the cannabis industry.

Liz Rogan is a cannabis business strategist & wellness consultant based in Santa Barbara, CA. She has been assisting cannabis business owners, counseling medical cannabis patients, and educating the public about the use of cannabis for the past 15 years. Liz approaches the industry from a natural sciences background with a BS in Biology & Botany and a passion for education, research and wellness. She has been a leading liaison between government, community and cannabis business owners helping to create local cannabis regulations.. Liz is the Executive Director of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine (AACM) and the founder of the Cannabis Business Council of Santa Barbara County,(CBCSBC). She is a member of California Women for Agriculture, Women Grow, Americans For Safe Access, Society for Cannabis Clinicians, & the International Cannabinoid Research Group. Liz brings a holistic perspective to the cannabis industry, highlighting the connections between science, politics, regulations, research, education, and medical cannabis patients. She speaks nationwide on cannabis policy & cannabinoid therapy. Liz prides herself on being on the cutting edge of the newest medical cannabis research, cannabis products, regulations and industry trends.

Samantha Bearman, MPH, has over 10 years within the Alcohol and Drug field through a public health experience. She earned her master's in public health at the University of Kentucky and has worked in non-profit, public, and private sectors in prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation specialties. She has extensive experience with social media marketing and brand strategies and has been a ghostwriter for a variety of businesses and public figures.

Peter LaFontaine

Webmaster, Audio/Video Engineer, Photographer

Peter LaFontaine is an Audio/Video Engineer, Webmaster, Photographer, and works in E-Commerce. Peter is currently a student at Cincinnati State and Technical Community College where he is working on his Associates double majoring in Audio/Video Production along with Web. He also does Photography and photo editing. His hobbies include Music Production and collecting sneakers. He is the owner of a micro-business called "I Luv Kickz" where he sells limited/rare sneakers on his website, and eBay. After his Associates he will be working to earn a Bachelor's of Arts. He has had previous job experience as a freelancer working from his home studio at places such as critiquing music from musicians, mixing & mastering audio for a variety of things including phone applications, music, interviews, and podcasts. With a little over ten years of experience using cannabis, Peter is a strong believer in the legalization cause of cannabis for medical use along with recreational use. He credits cannabis as one of the main reasons he is able to function and perform the things he does today and advocates for medical use.
